View Co-Hosts Dish to OK! About Sherri

While Barbara Walters won’t announce comedian Sherri Shepherd as the newest co-host of The View until Monday, OK! has already spoken with Sherri’s future co-workers. Still playing a bit coy, the always-chipper Elisabeth Hasselbeck tells OK!, “I don’t really know exactly what’s going on, but if that were true it would be good news. I love Sherri!” Joy Behar was also keeping any information close to the vest. “I have no idea,” she tells OK! “My lips are sealed.”

Sherri has played co-host several times in recent months, often fueling speculation that she was being groomed to take over the spot vacated by Star Jones in the summer of 2006. However, those rumors appeared to lose steam in July when Whoopi Goldberg was named as a co-host. Still, with the seat left vacant by Rosie O’Donnell’s departure at the end of last season, there is room at the table.
