We're all feeling the heat of the economy these days, but that doesn't mean our hair can't still look hot. David Babaii, whose client list reads like a Who's Who of Hollywood--think Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie and Demi Moore--understands our plight and gives OK! helpful hints to get celebrity hair on a regular old paycheck. (Another reason to love him: not only is his line David Babaii for WildAid affordable, but it meets PETA's cruelty free certification.)
1) Check to see when your salon is having a discount day or training night--you can get a fabulous professional cut for a fraction of the price. You can even sign up to be a hair model if you're willing to give them carte blanche.
2) Don't over work your hair; if it's naturally straight don't waste time trying to curl it. If it's curly, save time and electricity and let your curls air dry.
3) Use energy efficient styling tools that save on electric bills and are eco-friendly...you're saving money and the world!
4) Use professional grade products like I use on my clients. Don't be ashamed to buy them at CVS, Target or Duane Reade--I shop there all the time!
5) Dampen your hair and tie it in a messy bun before bed. Remove in the morning, shake it out and add some mousse to create a very bohemian look.
