Nancy Pelosi Nixes Michael Jackson Resolution

Michael Jackson/Nancy PelosiWhile congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee told Michael Jackson fans on Tuesday during her speech at his memorial that she would get a resolution passed to honor him, it looks like she might have to eat her words: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi just shot down the proposal, which Lee had shown in a frame from the stage.

Pelosi explained her decision at a news conference on Capitol Hill, saying that even though Michael was “a great performer,” a resolution to honor him “will open up two contrary views that are not necessary at this time to be expressed.”

I agree with not passing a resolution. There is no doubt he was a musical genius and had a very successful career that touched many around the world. To honor him as we have done Martin Luther King is a slap in the face to those that did deserve it.

I say, Match up all of his charitable work against others who have received this type of recognition. Let’s see and put this and under a review.

He indeed was the greatest and there will never be anyone to come close to what or who he is, but come on now….we are fighing 2 major wars, companies are going bankrupt left & right, people are jobless & loosing there homes everyday, healthcare is out of control, reseetc., etc., etc., there are a lot more pressing issues our elected officals need to concern themselves with at this time.

the way michael jackson cut off debbie rowe as the mother after she’s barren, is not a very caring and humane way to treat another human being, especially if she’s your wife; even though what’s btw them may be purely money transaction, there’s no love or compassion. i can’t say a man who thinks love can be bought with cold hard cash is a great one that deserves a resolution.

in a similar fashion, although he has contributed to many charities through money, but does he feel love and compassion genuinely while doing so? to that, we will never know. but for a rich guy like him, it’s no big deal donating $ all over the world in the name of charity.

we just need to look at the way he conducts his personal life to know what sort of man he is, which unfortunately, is itself a big contradiction to the caring and kind man he tried to portray to the world…

oh yeah his kids love him, but that doesn’t mean he’s a 100% perfect human being.
there are many rich men richer than michael jackson but don’t face as many persecutions and controversies as him from ex-staff/friends just because they are rich and famous, but more likely it’s because they lead their lives well and decent.

just because a king of pop had dead and left behind 3 lovely kids, our sympathy can change to blind-faith and start to believe he’s innocent of all wrong-doings he’s been accused of.
so it’s really wise of the nancy pelosi to not be carried away by his death memorial and honor him as an honorable man. amen.

This is not about Michael Jackson the man this is about Michael Jackson the Humanitarian. I just found a website that list some of the humanitarian works MJ did. I know a lot of people have said he did things, but he was found innocent of these charges and in the US you are innocent until proven guilty and he was FOUND NOT GUILTy. If you look at some backgrounds of some of the other people that have been been given this award you will note they have some “tarnished marks” in their private lives. If you want check out the website http://www.thesource.com/2009/06/the-source-remembers-michael-jackson-humanitarian/
