As the whole world buzzes about Paris Jackson’s touching and tearful speech at her father Michael Jackson’s memorial service yesterday, the producer of the service says the moving moment wasn’t planned in advance.
Producer Ken Ehrlich tells CNN that he “didn’t know the kids were going to come up with them” and that Paris’ tribute “was not planned.”
“A lot of the show was not scripted. Music was laid out, but most of the speakers really spoke from their heart – people who knew Michael well – and I think that’s what gave the show its heart,” he added.
And while some might think the Jackson family shouldn’t have let MJ’s daughter, who used to wear a mask, speak to the millions watching, they insisted that the service was meant as a public memorial, not a TV show, saying, “We don’t want to do a TV show, we want to do a memorial service. We hope you got the feeling you were watching a memorial service.”
I think that Paris did a brave thing by going up there and speaking from her heart..These psycologist who said that it was NOt okay, who are they to say that..Maybe this is what she needed to do for herself..She stated that Michael was a good DADDY and FATHER and that she LOVEs him..How can any1 say that was wrong for the Jackson Family to allow her to say what she feels??? People these days are just waiting for the opportunity to STOMP on some1 when they are already down…Those of you HEARTLESS people, let the Jackson’s greave now in peace..RIP Michael..
he said not god for Paris to be at the funeral & speak? I though Paris did an amazing job. She obviously loved her daddy and to me that says soooooo much about the man he was. Right or wrong in all the allegations from his past, he was and will always be a father to 3 children and regardless of whether people say he is not the “biological” father MJ is a daddy to them either way. As an adoptive parent I was offended that so called reliable media sources would do that to these poor children… They have been through enough and honestly it is NO ONES business if someone else is the biological father. My heart goes out to those children and I hope they will be able to find peace knowing they had a great daddy.
Good thing Paris went up and talked. She told the world that her dad is a good dad.
I think that it was a good thing that Paris did go up there and spoke from her heart how a WONDERFUL/LOVING father that he has ALWAYS been. Whether Michael Jackson had those children or not that’s no one to judge. Take a look at yourself and make a change. I also liked what Al Sharpeton had to say to the children, ” There wasn’t nothing strange about your daddy, what was strange is what he had to deal with”, which is SO true. Also, when Marlon got up to speak, “Maybe they will leave you ALONE and let you rest in PEACE”. I adore Micheal, his music,talent,kindness,generosity, there’s really no words to describe what kind of person he really was he was magicial. I will close out saying there isn’t not one single person out there that can say they wasn’t touched by one song that he sung. Michael, may you rest in the arms of JESUS.
When I was 9 I lost my grandmother. She was more like my mother than grandma. I always felt like I never got my chance to say goodbye to her as I grew up because I was kept from seeing her or attending the funeral. I’m glad Paris and her brothers got their chance to say “goodbye” one last time to their father. Regardless of whether biology of any of the kids does not genetically match MJ, being a single mom myself, the reality is that sperm do not raise children or instill in them the right and wrongs of the world. Simply, Michael was, is, and always be their father. He was the only father they ever knew and that counts for something more than a DNA test in my opinion. Angelina Jolie, and many others in hollywood adopt or raise kids from other cultures and no one is pushing for them to have DNA tests done, or distorting their image to sensationalize something they don’t understand. Prejudice takes many forms, and saying hateful things about a child’s dead father is the epitome of prejudice and hate in its finest form.

i think what Paris did was very brave and if the producers of the show didnt like that she got up there to say her very short and heartwrenching speech, then thats their problem. And people that believe Michael isnt the biological father to those kids need to shut up i mean really. He’s cared for them since they were born, he IS their father so GET OVER IT!!!!!
I agree with most people here. The children love Michael so much, he was a graceful father with an infantile very developed sense. A father that enjoy playing with them as a child, someone who could amuse as a child. To whom a father like that would have liked to have?.. What Paris did was surprising, unexpected and necessary, she has the right to say how was her father. God blesses and take care of them very much.
At least he didn’t give up these kids for millions of dollars like their mother? Hello? And now she wants the children? Please provide her a reality check. “He was their best father they can ever have”, so what does that say about him as a father to these children? He paid millions of dollars for these children and he is not even the biological father, and here we have a biological mother selling them for millions of dollars and signing off her rights… Get a life Debbie Rowe! Leave these kids alone as you were never there for them all these years because of money?????
If human beings weren’t so critical about MJ, these kids would probably never had to wear a mask. For their safety, I guess as a father, he felt it was necessary. And what the hell does a psychologist know about not allowing the children to talk in front of millions of people? Isn’t a therapist’s job is to have their patients talk so they can feel better? Stop being so critical about what should have and shouldn’t have been done.

I dont think it’s stupid to say what you think about somone, but I don’t think anyone knows the Jackson Kids because from the research I’ve been doing I have found out that they have been homeschooled and have hardly mixed with other kids so I dont think I will be able to tell Paris.
If you got the chance to tell Paris yourself that you love her would you? If I got the chance to tell Prince myself that I love him I would be too embarressed .
