Actress Rachelle Lefevre, who is being replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in the third Twilight film, Eclipse, which begins shooting in August, has released a statement to explain her shock and apparent disappointment at the news.
Speaking to E! News, Rachelle says:
“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for Eclipse. I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules.
“My commitment to Barney’s Version is only 10 days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those 10 days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.
“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of Eclipse only the very best.”
That’s really sad.

im very mad that they are replacing her they mind’ve as well replace the rest of the cats to everyone that has excepted them replacing her is wrong no one is better for victoria’s role then Rachelle. People have been starting a petion to get her back and i’ve signed it i think everyone else should to. It’s just respect they shouldn’t have replaced her for a 10 day difference.
It’s all downhill from here. Now the screw-ups are starting. Once a successful hit changes it’s characters, people become less interested. If the Twi cast is smart- they’ll try to get Summit to re-think their choice. People have an image of Victoria now. To bring a new face in is like creating a whole new character:(

wow that sucks!!! im with BJay, i think its so stupid to get ride of the original characters. and like Miki says every time i think of victoria ,Rachelle Lefevre pops into my head.
I think this a mistake!! It sucks knowing that the twlight saga is such great books. Now that it’s being turned into movies they should stick with the people from the first movie. Replacing an actor who has been in the first two movies is crazy. I just think they should let her keep her. The girl the they are replacing her with kinda looks like her. But it could confuse some people. When years go by and I show people this movie I think that seeing a diffrent person would be pretty strange. Other movies change the actor for another person. But for all the Twilight fans it will seem like a let down. We loved the books so much. Making changes in the movies would deff. not be right. The movies should live up to the books and the only way I see that happening is by keeping Rachelle for Eclipse. It just does not make sense to me. I know as a Twilight fan I dont care if this no person is the greatest actress in the world. I still would rather see Rachelle in Eclipse.

Rachelle Lefevre was a huge assett to this cast. She has personality and charisma when it comes to interviews for the Twilight movies. She plays Victoria AMAZINGLY!! I DO NOT believe she left or was at fault for the change in casting. Summit has really been dropping the ball lately…First the lack of proper security for Rob in NYC, Second releasing absurd statements as if it is no big deal when Rob was hit by a cab, Third the change in casting this late in the series (now that we all have fallen in love with Rachelle), Fourth the ridiculous statement about why they released Rachelle and made the change, and finally its just icing on the cake IF they are putting the nix on Kristen and Rob! They are making great money off of this franchise and should be a little more accommadating to its actors and its fans!!!

I think it is a very bad choice on Summit’s part to replace Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria. She is who the fans want to see. Don’t make this a sham. Twilight is a Very Good book and I think you need to stay true to the characters, all of them. I would understand if she passed away, so you HAD to replace her. (Like the recasting of Dumbledore for Harry Potter. They had no choice but to recast seeing that the actor passed away) I mean come on this is the last movie Victoria is in anyways. Let Rachelle Lefevre put Victoria to Rest appropriately. I honestly would prefer you not to make Eclipse if you can’t even have the dignity to have all the Original cast. I looked forward to seeing some of my favorite books being put into film but not like this. The change has honestly made me not want to see the 3rd installment but I will be there for New Moon. At least the 1st two are not going to ridiculously SUCK!! Good Job Summit Make Something Good and Wonderful into a Steaming Pile of Shit!! I hope Summit Entertainment grows a Brain and rethinks your actions and Casts Ms. Lefevre as Victoria again because I know that I along with probably millions of die hard fans will not be filling the seats at midnight on June 30, 2010. It will BOMB without the Original Cast!! So if you want to lose money go ahead with your POOR choice and I hope that Bryce Dallas Howard knows and feels that she is not the 1st choice as Victoria just a sloppy second fill in to an awesome actor that nailed the role of Victoria. Rachelle Lefevre didn’t get the role because she rode on her Superstar Daddy’s coat tails. She got it because she is a wonderful actor and she is extremely disappointed because she got replaced. That is so frustrating! Why can’t these movies ever keep the same charachters..Geez! Why ruin a perfectly good story by switching out to someone new. That just upsets the audience that is so eager to see the flick..Disappointing!
WHAT?!??!?!?!?? That’s totally not fair!!!!! Rachelle IS Victoria!!!!! She deserves to play her in Eclipse!!!! That’s HER movie!!!!! Cam had twilight, Edi had New Moon, but Eclipse is RACHELLE’S movie. That’s HER time!!!!! For what?!?!?!?? A TEN DAY OVERLAP?!?! That’s infuriating! Downright infuriating. Everyone already knows she’s Victoria. That’s like creating a different person. It’s not fair to Rachelle either. She was sooooo excited about filming Eclipse. Ugh . . . Summit made a bad choice. It’s very stupid to replace Rachelle. She was perfect for Victoria! Ok, so let me get this straight.
FIRST, they try to get rid of super awesome Taylor Lautner, NOW they recasted Rachelle?! Who’s next? Jeez, it’s not fair. I’m not even excited to see Eclipse anymore . . . . I was so ready to see Rachelle in it, now i don’t even know if I want to see it. When you start takeing people out of the books and replaceing with other actors you change everything i think it would be best for summit to stick to keeping Rachelle Lefevre in Eclipse this is really dissapointing to here, i think twilight was a really good movie and no that twilight new moon will be even better. if you replace this actor who elsa will you replace you should stick with the same people.
