wenn1672890Whether he will be on the big-screen or the small-screen is yet to be determined, but it sounds like Dallas‘ J.R. Ewing will be brought back to life either way, the New York Times reports.

Warner’s sister cable network TNT are working on a remake of  the ’70s soap, while at at the same time, 20 Century Fox says their New Regency production unit is still working on a big-screen version of the show.

The TNT remake would focus on John Ross and Christopher, the next generation of Ewings.

To recap: John Ross is the son of J.R. and Sue Ellen and Christopher is the adopted son of Bobby and Pam who is the daughter of Sue Ellen’s sister, Kristen. Kristen, if you remember, is the famous shooter of J.R.

Got it?

It’s unknown if the TNT pilot will actually turn into series, but Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy of the original cast have been asked to participate. Some, perhaps all, have given their blessing.

Maybe this could be one remake that will stick around!

The Discussion

  1. I’ve thought about this for a number of years. If it is done with good, good looking actors playing the parts of John Ross and Christopher it might go over. I like that some of the original stars would be part of it. I don’t know how you can, or even would want to keep the Barns/Ewing feud going. Cliff would have had to of had a son or maybe a tough Lesbian daughter , a very succesful, tough guy or gal that can give the Ewing boys a run for their money. Oil companies are not popular these days, someone has to have an alternative power company that is constantly threatening to put Ewing oil out of business.

Didn’t Krisin give Birth to Christopher? to bad she was killed off, Just please don’t bring Lucy back!

This is what america needs. A series to make us all forget the mess this world is in.
I,ve been on a personel crusade over the years loaning out Dallas dvd,s and telling
everone all the fun and suspense Friday night used to offer. All the people who watch
my dvd,s and older vhs like the shows and admit it,s addicting. Bring on the new shows
and look for very high tv ratings. Bring all the cast back.
