One day after Jon Gosselin was ordered to return $180,000 to a bank account he shouldn’t have touched, the reality TV super stud is actually admitting that he made a big, big mistake.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jon confesses he did indeed violate an agreement made with estranged wife Kate by dipping his hand into the cash cookie jar when he shouldn’t have.
“It was just after arbitration and we weren’t supposed to take money out of the restrictive account and we both did,” he claims to ET. “I was found in contempt for doing so. I didn’t realize, I thought I was just taking my paycheck out.”
Jon also confirmed that the actual amount he needs to return to the account is $155,000, and says he’s still in the dark about exactly how much money Kate allegedly withdrew.
“It’s unaccounted for,” he says. “So by Friday, we’ll know her complete accounting, which might reduce my accounting, so I don’t know what’s going on. I’m gonna be truthful and abide by the court and I’ll put it back. And she has to do the same.”
The Ed Hardy-loving 32-year-old also admits that he had hopes of talking these issues out with Kate during yesterday’s arbitration hearing. “I thought about doing that, but in a public setting as a public figure you have to watch what you say and do.”
And with regard to his earning potential going forward, a not-at-all cocky Jon says he’s, “not worried about future employment” and that he plans to “continue on television.”

I distinctly heard Jon say during an interview the other day that he would never do another reality show. Today he says he’s going ahead with Divorced Dad’s Club. Lying just comes so easily to him, it’s bizarre!

Kate also took out $55K. She’s claiming that it was for household expenses, but for that they have a separate account that they both contribute $7500 per month to for mortgage, insurance, food, etc. Probably used the extra money for her spa trips and boob job.
These are two greedy people who are cheating their kids out of the money they earned. I’d love to see how much has been put aside for their futures. I doubt it’s anywhere close to 80% of the earnings. The kids are the only ones getting screwed.
Julie, Try actually reading the interim arbitration award. There are two accounts. The one they each have to pay $ 7500 a month into is the working account. The order identifies the bills that are to be paid from Working Account on a routine basis: mortgage payments on both houses, utilities on both houses (electric, cable, phones, security alarm service, water & sewer, homeowners’ insurance), pool service, mutually agreed upon personal security for the parties and/or the children, and the children’s food bills. The other one is identified as the JKIG Money Market Account. While the parties each can withdraw money from that, the interim award states “Additional/extraordinary expenses for the homes and/or the parties’ children shall be paid” from the Money Market account (which the award repeatedly states is under Kate’s control). The interim award ID’s the expenses antipated to fall in this category as including (rather than limited to): real estate taxes, individual taxes incurred prior to the parties’ separation, estimated quarterly taxes for 2009 (estimated quarterly taxes would include any income taxes on income that is not subject to withholding by an employer), school bills for the children, clothing for the children, and necessary repairs for the homes owned by the parties. Those are very major and as much household expenses as cleaning the pool, etc.
The interim award does say both parties must consent to withdrawals whether for either party and/or these additional/extraordinary expenses and that the consent cannot be unreasonably withheld. However, if Kate documents that payments were made for the purposes anticipated as qualifying, I doubt the court would have a lot of trouble with it since a strong argument can be made that these reasons are pre-approved for the bill-payer (aka Kate) to pay from this account. Furthermore, the interim arbitrator’s award provides for an expedited phone conference with the arbitrator if either party claims the other has unreasonably denied consent and the arbitrator’s ruling on the dispute is binding. Jon has never alleged he asked Kate for a dime of the money.
There is no evidence she had breast augmentation. She had abdominoplasty surgery to repair the damage done to her body by carrying six fetuses to viability after carrying twins. The plastic surgeon donated his services after his wife saw the first special and the surgery was done on the second special before the series began. On the second special, the surgeon said that she didn’t need breast surgery; just the right bra. Considering the surgeon and his wife are Hailey’s parents and Kate recovered from the surgery in their home, if there was any proof that Kate had any more surgery than has been discusses in any of the specials or the series, don’t you think Hailey would know and broadcast it to the world especially after Hailey had breast augmentation surgery herself and was mocked in the tabloids over it? Peggy how very well and articulately put. It is so nice to see someone with common sense. This whole fiasco has been a wonderful lesson for my daughters on how to weed out the truth. They have learned to listen to both sides and then decide who seems to be most truthful. As my youngest said how do you trust someone whose story changes everyday, especially when something doesn’t go their way. She even went on to say you don’t have to like a person in order to believe them. Pretty wise words for a 13 year old.
Me personally, I find it ironic that Jon has a new excuse everyday. Does theguy have an excuse book and just open it and pick out an excuse? Ok has a story, showing Kate coming out of the bank after the court hearing. I believe that Kate went transferred the money she stole back into the account.

Someone had to take control in that household to have order in raising 8 children. jon obviously was not up for the challenge so Kate took the reigns. i have 2 children and anyone with kids know how hard it can be sometimes. i can’t even imagine 8. jon was lazy and just behaved like one of the kids and so kate had to take control. so even though she may have behaved like a bitch, i believe there was no other way sometimes.
