More than a few jaws might have dropped last night watching Adam Lambert’s AMA performance, where the American Idol alum passionately made out with a guy on stage and simulated oral sex, but the rocker isn’t about to apologize. “You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges,” he tells Access Hollywood. “I’m not an artist that does things for every single person.”“I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either,” adds.

Adam thinks his performance wouldn’t have been a big deal, if it had been a woman on stage doing the same kinds of things.
“There’s a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I’m a male, and I’ll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem,” he says.
“People are scared and it’s really sad, I just wish people could open their minds up and enjoy things, it’s all for a laugh, it’s really not that big of a deal.”

Uhh…I think it would be just as offensive with a female artist. Nice try using the gender card though Adam. Your fantasies should be your own, and some things are better not to share.
The fact that the AMA’s are on TV on Sunday evening (prime FAMILY TIME) should’ve been for first clue that this wasn’t the right venue to express THAT particular side of your artistry Adam. And if Madonna, Lady Gaga or Janet Jackson would have done the same thing they would and HAVE been censored. Kissing another man isn’t the problem, having him simulate an oral sex act was COMPLETELY inappropriate. Truly disappointed that you opted for shock instead of trying to create good music and showcase talent. When you chose to sell yourself this way, you really only proved one thing…that your talent isn’t enough for you to make it in this business. I don’t think your 15 minutes will last much longer…but good luck regardless.
YUCK! Hated it! Poor choice to make your first showcase in this manner. I thought you were talented. I wasn’t entertained…
HATED IT!!!! Very disappointing.
Oh for heavens sake…what kind of garbage are they putting on TV?? Shame on you American AA…someone’s sexual preference doesn’t belong on prime time….that is for their bedroom so I don’t even know why it comes out in music but really , I liked Adam L. until that garbage came out, c’mon really, why do you need to flaunt your sexual preference….we really don’t want to know!!! Your overshadowing your talent with this irrelevant issue, it’s making you lose a certain percentage when it doesn’t need to be that way.
Are you not confident enough in your own talents????
DISGUSTING!!! Who the hell is this guy(girl) whatever the hell he thinks he is. Shame on the people who allow him even a second of their time! this guy is obviously sick and needs help and figured he could get some attention this way. what’s really sad is the sick people out there who pay him any attention! somebody get this guy some help please
I agree with other posters. No matter what his gender or sexual preference, it was just a nasty show…tacky with a serious lack of class. I wonder if the dancers/musicians knew he was going to do that stuff. It was almost like seeing him abuse people on stage. So rough and boundary-less…he’s got a lot to learn.
