Britney Spears is “extremely upset” about being embroiled in a controversy over lip-synching during her first Australian tour.
According to Australian media reports, fans walked out of Britney’s first show in Perth, on Nov. 6, after a few songs.
But the team behind her 14-date tour have rushed to her defense.
“Britney is aware of all this and she’s extremely upset by it,” Paul Dainty, Brit’s tour promoter, told The Australian newspaper on Monday.
“She’s a human being. I’m embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting.”
Dainty denied that fans stormed out of the show during the third song after paying up to $1,500 to see the 27-year-old singer.
Brit has been at the center of lip-synching storm since her arrival in Oz, even though it’s no secret that she mimes as she dances in her world tour, Circus.
The Fair Trade Minister for the state of New South Wales, Virginia Judge, even suggested concert tickets should carry disclaimers about whether parts of concerts were pre-recorded and mimed.
“It’s been all over the Internet for nine months,” Dainty says of Britney’s lip-synching. “This show is about an incredible spectacle, which it is.”
Britney’s manager Adam Leber took to her Twitter account, Nov. 7, to defend the singer to her 3.7 million followers.
“Its unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn’t enjoy the show last night,” he Tweeted. “Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did. — Adam.”
If these people are Britney fans, then they know she lipsynchs all her songs. I’m not understanding their anger over this. It’s a known fact Britney can’t sing.
Britney Spears has been in the music industry for over 10 years. She’s also been lip-synching just about that same amount of time. WHY DO PEOPLE STILL BRING THIS UP LIKE IT’S SOMETHING NEW? It’s boring news. Britney puts on a great show and that’s all that matter. If it’s not your idea of a good time then move along.
well if the beotch knew how to lip-synch perhaps this wouldnt be an issue! honestly, i cant seem to understand how she became this famous to begin with, she’s way beyond untalnted. first of all, she does not know how to lip-synch. secondly, her dancing skills are not that great even though they’re choreographed. thirdly, she’s really bad in giving interviews, and lastly she cannot sing! its no wonder she succombed to lip-synching and even that she cant get right. wish people choose better people with much deserved talent and give them a chance. all the mainstreamers need to take a break and let people with real talent take over!
If people like Britney’s songs then why would she has to go?… I don’t get it. And she has talent, she can’t sing but they change her voice and do some stuff and poofff! a great pop song. I don’t know if you have seen her life but BOY SHE CAN DANCE! (I was surprise too). And she does put off a great show. It’s an awesome experience.
Considering the price of tickets these days, it should be illegal for ANY artist to lip-synch! They should all be absolutely ashamed to give anything other than a 110% effort in a public performance.
Excuse me, but some artist are PERFORMERS and we ALL know Britney lip-synch all the time. We go there to watch the AMAZING show she puts together, the dance moves and everything. They are NOT making you pay to watch them… if you don’t wanna go don’t go, who is forcing you honey? NOBODY. You think Brit doesn’t work her ass off to put that incredible show with all those dance moves and dancers?. It’s a BIG party. It’s a Circus. If you don’t like it then don’t go.
If you would like to see Brit not dancing at all and just standing next to a mic and not singing very well either… that’s just you, not everybody.
Don’t judge if you are not an artists. Some of US try to do what WE think people would enjoy the most. Not everybody can sing and dance at the same time. I think I sing better when I’m not dancing… but if i don’t dance at all… then it may be boring.
Shut up if you don’t know what giving 100% of you on a show is. 110% That’s imposible… just for you to know. If you give 100% of you, you are giving ALL you can.
I couldn’t agree more with Alvaro. Illegal you say… I mean illegal would be if the force you to go there. Come on! I hate Britney but we ALL now that she always lip-synch (VMAs). And I mean… what makes you think they don’t give 100% effort in their performances?.
Wow, you really have to grow up. Sometimes I go to a show where I wanna see dancers, if I go to the theather I expect to see a good play, if I go to a Brit concert I’d expect her to lip-synch but to dance her ass off.
Haven’t you read about the tour (Circus)? They don’t say “Watch Britney singing and dancing”, They say: “Prepare yourself for an unforgetable experience”.
she is performer and that is the most important part of the show, I saw her in concert so for those who claim she just walks around is bull. Maybe if I didnt see it I would believe it. Its odd to me that she finished her us tour and not a single complaint but she goes to aussie land and all of the sudden, this chaos breaks.
Ummmm 99% of her concert reviews were NOT good. They all talked about her snail like presence and how the back up dancers did all the HARD work. So nice try, but your WRONG.
if your not a fan why buy her tickets and waste ur money, because if you are a fan even if you didnt like this show you wouldnt trash her like that…so called me crazy but some of those arguments are stupid. She has always known how to put on a good show but I cpould care less if she sings live or not. Most of the time when you are in that big of a arena singing live sounds bad anyways.
Well! What did you expect? We all know that she doens’t have a good voice but good at dancing and lip-sync since forever. And yes, you can’t do both singing and dancing crazy in the same time. So stop complaining. Just a waste.
On the other hand, she can sing with little movement and let her backup dancers to work on. This is where you need backup dancers for.
And whether you like it or not, the tickets are already sold out and she can go back to US without any performance. LOL

She isn’t talented and anyone getting annoyed about this is not a music fan.
People go to see her in the hope she melts down again and whacks someone with an umbrella, maybe shaves her head onstage.
There is no other reason to go and see her LIVE, her voice is modified using Autotune – hence the reason she doesn’t sing live – she can’t sing.
