Suri Cruise is a fashionista in the making. From her dresses to her footwear, the 3-year-old’s wardrobe has already gained attention. Mom Katie Holmes reveals it was her own footwear that inspired her daughter’s decision to wear high heels. “She, like every little girl — she loves my high heels,” Katie tells Access Hollywood at the Dizzy Feet Foundation at the Kodak Theater in L.A. on Sunday.
Suri’s manner of dress has been in the limelight since she was often spotted in public without a coat.
Most recently, Suri’s child-sized kitten heels have sparked a debate on the Web and in parenting magazines over whether they could present a risk to the child’s growth, Access reports.
Katie puts the gossip to rest, explaining the heels are actually supportive.
“They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids,” Katie says. “I found them for her and she loves them.”
Katie attended the Dizzy Feet event over the weekend in support of the organization she founded with So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman and Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba. The organization aims to help underprivileged young people realize their dreams of becoming professional dancers.
“I’ve been a fan of dancing my whole life,” Katie says. “I met with Nigel and he asked me if I wanted take part in… in starting this.”
And while on the podium at the event, Katie announced the foundation received over 90,000 donations, enabling them to help nine students with scholarships to various dance schools.
I love Suri. She is so nice and lovely. She looks like a great baby.
Those shoes are for dancing, not for taking a walk but in the stupid scientologist mentality, the parents should never say no to their children so Suri gets to do whatever she wants.
I have a 3 yr old daughter and she LOVES shoes, especially ones with little heels – they are for moderation so as not to damage her feet. Leave these people alone – they are raising THEIR child, not YOURS!

Katie Holmes doesn’t have a clue about kids, the child is wearing high heels, her hair is always all over her face, for god sakes do something about her hair, put a coat on her and get her out of high heels! If Scientology preaches letting children do whatever they want then the congregation has to be a bunch of ignorant people, they will reap the ramifications of that later when this child hits her teens! Just because you have money does not mean you have brains!
forget the high heels… what should be more apparent is that she never has a coat on!
How many photos exist of her parents all wrapped up in jackets and sweaters and that child is wearing a short sleeved dress, without a coat.
If her parents are cold enough to need a jacket… then she most likely is as well.
It’s so common, that I shriek at every photo I see of the poor child.
C’mon Tom and Kate… please dress her properly!
