How does the American public save Conan O’Brien? Flood the inbox of every NBC executive, otherwise known as executive email carpet bombing (EECB). The Consumerist offers this as one method of handling the NBC late night TV debacle, threatening to oust Conan prematurely from his 11:35 Tonight Show time slot, something the tall, red-headed co-host has worked very hard for.
“Six years ago Conan signed a contract that promised he would one day sit in the same same chair as Johnny Carson,” writes The Consumerist, reigning the Tonight Show for an hour, and after Jay Leno’s low ratings threaten NBC, Conan’s new home is in jeopardy.
Conan released a statement today informing America of his stance on the situation, and refusing to follow Jay, feeling a shift in the scheduling of NBC Late Night TV would “seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting.”
An effective EECB, would make a big statement and cause NBC to seriously evaluate their decision, The Consumerist argues.
The publication also points out that Conan’s material is more original compared to Jay who endorses products very frequently during his The Jay Leno Show.

I think is his unfair to move Conan…either cancel “Jay Leno” altogether, or move him to 12:35 a.m.
I really think it’s time for Jay, it will be a win-win if Jay retired gloriously for his Show business and service, and Conan takes over it completely, it’s apparently not Conan’s fault to the result of low rating in the Prime time. As a viewer, Conan has a done a great job at the Tonight Show since he took over, even Jimmy Fallon is getting better and established his connection to the viewers and confident at the show. But Jay…same old Jay Walking and Earn the Plugs while the guest has nothing to plug for. Anyway, I love them all, but NBC executives should face the reality of generation change.
Cancel Jay, NBC. This is insane. No one under 50 watches Leno, and now his good-guy image is getting a huge dent in it (you don’t end up “accidentally” in the middle of TWO vicious late-night handoffs).
Jay is a dull, boring hack. And worse, now it looks like he’s a creep as well.
I LOVE CONAN!!! I grew up watching him and he’s my favorite of ‘em all. He’s interestingly funny, eccentric and a joy to watch. He’s unique, creative, original and personable
Please Jay, do us all a favor and retire! It’s your time to expire and let other talented comedians succeed.
Iguess I am a little confused. I know my two cents worth, is only that.
But in my eyes this decision to change back Leno only devalues the big NBC television corporate leader that much more.
I wasn’t a big fan to stay up and watch TV to begin with. After many nights watching Leno
It has become more than a habit to stay up just to watch the” Tonight show with Jay Leno”. I actually look forward to have my day finished with a little humor and famous people.
Then you guys decided to change things, for the better. I was at first not happy Leno was discontinued and moved back to prime time because I was no fan of O’Brian.
Now after several months watching the new”Tonight show” I thought you guys had the right idea by getting some new ideas and ways of entertainment with Connan. And I have become a Conan fan. I don’t feel connan has recieved any recognition for what he has done for Late TV. I feel I will have to follow Conan where ever he ends up to support his endevors. At least he has given a good shot for what he was asked to do in support of NBC. Thats more than Leno can say. Just ask him!
Conan is witty, creative, enthusiastic and very entertaining- Leno is dull, boring , looks bored – Who are these people watching Leno? Cadavers? Please don’t leave Conan!
They should eliminate theh Jay Leon Show, Keep the the Tonight Show where its at, its been at the time slot forever, keet it there
Can you publish some of those email adresses ?
NBC is stupid for thinking they could pull something like this. I would love to see everyone boycott the entire network in support of Conan.
Who is Jay Leno?
Conan all the way…. (cue that Barbarian music).
The e-mails are published on the consumerist site.

I have watched themboth for several years. However, if Jay kicks Conan out of his promised time slot, I will be forced to watch another network, or get some more sleep.
NBC here are two words for you… Indian Giver!
Keep Conan at 11:35 and either cancel Jay or cancel Jimmy and move Jay to Jimmy spot. NBC has one (1) good show, and thats Conan.
If anyone wants to tell NBC to keep Conan on here is how. http://consumerist.com/2010/01/eecb-nbc-to-save-the-conan-o-brien-show.html
Conan is brilliant!!! He and loyal Tonight Show Fans (many of us watching for decades) should not be punnished because Jay’s show is a flop. Seems to me that NBC needs a new breed of Exec to finally move into the 21st century.
No One is gonna watch big jaw leno…nbc will realize they let go prolly the funniest guy in america..but its all good Conando is gonna get that paycheck..and then go to another network and destroy Lenos show =) I’m With COCO
I agree. Jay already made a public announcement, five years ago, that he was stepping aside for Conan. Now he needs to do what he said he was going to do!

SAVE CONAN! Send Jay home! Jay could have gone out on a high note but chose to take on prime time which was a HUGE mistake for NBC. The time slot is for drama, not comedy. Conan earned his spot as the late night host and it’s time for Jay to be a man and step aside. Why does he even get a say in this? His show isn’t successful so he gets to bump Conan out of the spot he waited patiently for. Plus, everyone uprooted their families to L.A. and now what? Jay is ruinning the good image he had when he left late night. SAVE CONAN! NBC’s ratings are going to drop even more if they put Jay back because their will be a national boycott! Why can’t the NBC executives see that! SAVE CONAN!
While I’m a big fan of Jay Leno, I am disgusted and very unhappy that NBC is shafting Conan. I have now become an even bigger fan of Conan. NBC is making a mistake. They are wrong and making a major mistake by supplanting the Tonight Show. Don’t do it. You will lose fans because of the way this was done.
I am actually crying that Conan is leaving. I can’t believe it. i love him! Save Conan!
Dear Conan:
Very few people in the world are able to have a one hour network televison show, and make the kind of money you make. All NBC wanted to do was move you up half an hour, continue with a one hour show, and Jay Leno was being cut back to half an hour show. I think you shot yourself in the foot with your angry temper tantrum. You may pick up $30 million dollars with your deal with the network, figures you could have make with one or two mores years work at NBC, but now you have hurt your crew, and who is to say any other network will pick you up with all the late night competition, and who is to say they won”t cancel you after a few months? Your position could cost you any hope of a television future, especially at night. Moving to 12:05 am is no big deal. I can’t see any sense in the move you made. Suggest you go back to NBC and accept the 12:05 time slot, or 12:35 am time slot.
Sincerely,
Irwin Patterson
