Michael_Jackson_Bodyguards_March10newsne Three of Michael Jackson’s former bodyguards, Mike Garcia, Bill Whitfield and Javon “BJ” Beard are speaking out about Michael’s secret life in an interview with Good Morning America. The three men described Michael’s life as being filled with “stress, paranoia and pain.”

The three former bodyguards first met Michael in 2007 when they were hired for Michael’s personal protection, but the job was greater than just that. They were trusted with his life, his children and his secret, they revealed in an interview with Good Morning America.

Since Michael’s death on June 25, his supposed drug abuse and problems with debt were widely talked about.

“He was intoxicated in some way, but I wouldn’t say a problem, no,” Garcia said.

Whitfield added, “Certainly there were times where he gave the appearance that he was probably high on something.”

While they may not have seen signs of a drug problem, they did see signs of financial problems saying it sometimes took Michael months to pay then.

“I’m seeing all these zeroes and we can’t get a $5,000 check,” Whitfield said, who handled all of Michael’s personal paperwork.

“It was going out faster that it was coming in,” Garcia explained.

Even long after the child molestation case in 2005, according to the men, Michael was still being sued and he chose to settle outside of court.

“We’d go to lawyers’ offices and we’d be there from 10 a.m. until midnight,” Garcia said and eventually that was too much for Michael.

The three bodyguards were not in L.A. when Jackson died, but did attend his memorial at the L.A. Staples Center.

“I looked around, I looked at a lot of celebrities, a lot of stars…and it just made me wonder, where were they?” Whitfield asked. “Were these some of the people who turned their back on him after the second trial?”

“The guy was so lonely, where were they?” Garcia agreed.

Although Michael’s family seemed very united at his funeral, the three bodyguards said Michael didn’t see much of his family the two years before his death.

“They didn’t come around much and when they did, they came unexpected,” Whitfield explained. “And we’d say, ‘Mr. Jackson, one of your family members is at the gate [and] would like to see you,’ and he’d ask, ‘Do they have an appointment?’”

Michael was, however, very close to his children, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, and the three men described Michael as an “awesome” dad.

“The kids were constantly saying, ‘I love you, Daddy… They were like four buddies,” Garcia said.

“Certainly we hope that we did the best that we could to make them feel like kids and provide them with things to make them feel comfortable,” Whitfield said of what he’d like to say to Michael’s children now.

Garcia wants them to know they “were everything to [their] father.”

They all believe that Michael is watching over his children now and is very proud of them.

Wow is all I can say about this!

  2. Ruthie says:

Well I say let’s see what happens with the Doc.
All other personnel information about Michael should be kept private.
As we all know he did not like the media exploiting him or his kids.
so for respect for him leave it go and let the lawyers handle his personnel problems not the media.

  3. Beesan says:

Michael is amazing and we don’t need to hear it, you could just seeing in his eyes … one of the greatest people that ever and will ever live.

The doc should be hung, he killed Michael and he is responsible!!

  4. Colette says:

How awful of these guys. If it were true they would keep quiet. No way was MJ a womaniser. He was way too shy and decent. At all times in his life he was respectful of women and kept his love life private. I seriously have a problem imagining MJ changed so much that he now made out with numerous women in limos with security present. Something is not adding up. His love life was private and these guys should show more respect. If Michael was with women, it would have been all over the press. MJ could do nothing without press following him. If he was the “womaniser” they are making him out to be, I am sure it would have been all over the news. When are people going to leave him alone and let him be. He was an amazing human being and stories like this make him look the opposite to that. I am guessing it is a book deal making them money that is making them tell lies. He does not deserve this at all. I will always love MJ as he was a sweet, shy, kind, loving man. Making out and having sex with numerous women seems a stretch doesn’t it? He cared too much what people thought about him to be a player.

You have to understand, yes Michael was a Great Human Being, I don’t think he was a womanizer, I also don’t think that’s what the bodyguards were saying, but that’s all settled in each person brain what they thought they heard, human beings are funny that way… We are all going to hear something different, and that is most likely because of how each brain functions along with their life experience…. Michael still had and have lots of people that love him, even though their will always be those that don’t and that’s okay, again each brain or process of understanding is different. It won’t matter to some if they proved he was a saint… I heard them the guards say or understood them to say he loved woman, dispelling the other non-sense angry, jealous and self hating people that say he was whatever their quirky brain believes. Just as those that care about him always will….. So don’t let them upset you.. He was a good man it’s just that he was also a human with human feelings and emotions it was something about him that exuded LOVE!!!…ML

Well said. Having 2 girlfriends in 2 years does not equal to womanizing. I’ve heard before that he was very protective of the women in his life so I am not at all surprise. Kudos to the x-girlfriends for not coming out for their 15 minutes of fame like most of the people in his life did after he prematurely left us. I believe the men’s intention were good. They want people to know the real man and not the crap the media put out their.

  5. Monica says:

Kudos to these guys. Without them talking we wouldn’t see or hear the funny side of MJ. I love the part when MJ wanted to steal the statues…I would like to hear more nice things said about MJ cause I miss him so much. I will buy these guys books…I think it would be a great gift to a fan like me. Thank you for putting them on tv.

  6. sc341 says:

To Collette: Having 2 girlfriends over 2 years does not make someone a ‘womanizer’, which I seriously doubt. I also take what these guys say with a grain of salt. How do they know the details of Mike’s financial situation and how do they have copies of his financial statements (which were flashed across the television screen on the GMA interview? They better be careful of what they say, MJ’s estate (lawyers) are watching what they say on television. Seems to me like they are trying to shop a book deal.
