Film stars weren’t the only celebs battling it out last night! A showdown between famed music moguls Madonna and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs heated up into a friendly discussion over which artist reigns the music kingdom. “Diddy and Madonna were yelling at each other about who has a bigger impact on the music world,” an insider told OK! about the joking scene at Madonna and Guy Oseary’s annual late night post-Oscar party.
Madonna and Diddy were taking jabs at each other “in a funny way,” according to the insider, “but still yelling.”

And to cap the whole thing off with some fun? “Madonna and her dancers all had a dance-off in the middle of the party!” the source tells OK!.

How was this even a contest? Madonna is ICONIC, music wouldn’t be the same if she never existed. Lady GaGa, Britney, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna and countless others owe their careers to her as she’s been the most influential and greatest female music star in history. Diddy isn’t even a footnote in a book about music history.
If you don’t know what he is famous for maybe you shouldn’t comment. Diddy is legendary when it comes to music and the artists whose careers he helped make. Not to mention he has albums of his own. Have you never watched Making the Band. He is famous for getting artists music careers started with the establishment of his own record label Bad Boy. He has produced and had artists on his label Notorius BIG, Mary J Blige, Faith Evans, Cassie, Lil Kim, and not to mention JAY-Z. I mean come on he is iconic in music. He also has his Sean John clothing label too and is still making his own music while producing others.
Ya sorry…Diddy can not ever hold a flame to Madonna. She is the very last of pop royalty. No one cares who he has discovered. More USA all sounds the same records that people just forget about.

I agree with Jake. P. Diddy isn’t even in the same league as Madonna. No even close. He’s had only a few minor hits and these days he’s more famous for reality MTV shows than for anything musical.
Madonna continues to crank out the hits and influence music and fashion not only here in the U.S., but globally as well, while P. Diddy is famous for, well, I don’t really know what he’s famous for anymore.

P. Diddy is a legend….in his own mind. And that’s about it. One’s arrogance can only take a person so far, and Diddy is not what I think of when I think, “Icon” or “Legend”. What a joke.
Agreed. Madonna is the * icon *. Not P Diddy. I admit he has started off the careers of plenty of well known rappers in the 90s but not even if you combined them all in one lump could they ever hold a candle to Madonna’s super-star fame that reaches across the globe. Folks in remote parts of the world KNOW who Madonna is. Diddy needs to go away.

Why is this even a contest?
Madonna is music royalty with an unmatchable 30 year career in which she continues to rule the music scene and break records. She just shattered the previous touring recording (which she previously set) for solo singers just last year. P. Diddy is more of a money-making producer and a rapper/hip-hop “singer” with some hits, but he is nowhere near Madonna’s league or has had the kind of impact she’s had–then again, nobody really is. There’s Madonna, Michael, and Elvis when it comes to solo singers. Madonna paved the way and broke down many barriers for female artists. Without her we wouldn’t have Britney, Christina, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga (all have stated Madonna was their idol and inspiration), among others.
madonna is a legend. actually the biggest legend alive. well madonna and sir paul maccartney. according to the list of the most sucessfull artist ever madonna comes at #3 .beatles at #1 ,elvis at #2 and madonna at #3 .so of course madonna is huge. even at her age she broke all the records with her last tour. its incredible what this woman still doing. shes silmply a genious. and even timbaland said it. and diddy and madonna are friends. they were haveing a funny discussion. nothing serious. they know each other for years. she actually dated a friend of him. 2 pac.
How dare these fools say that Diddy is no match to Madonna. I beg you to pardon me but you all have been looking at this from a very lay perspective of songs reoorded and sold out tours and all. But yeah, in that genre Madonna is well the one to take the gong hands down, but please don’t be underminding by the jugganaut that is Diddy. Diddy is got a foot print in the music industry in his own right that won’t ever be out-played. T ake for a start the diamonds in the dirt he has discovered and produced, from the likes of MJB, to Craig Mack, to D-Block, to Mase, Faith Evans and most especially B-I-G. Diddy invented the recent phenomenon of song remixes, and not only has he’s urban clothing Sean John been the kick-ass gear for every true hiphopper frm the 90’s to date, but he is the first Black music to make the transition from music mogul to being a fashion power house ahven taken Sean John from urban apparel to haute couture. Now I aint rooting for ma boy cos he’s of ma race, but cos though the man has got a mouth to run for days, he has got a got weight to a bout at it with the Material Girl. Plus Madonna is playin out hard, cos she’s left nothing out to be remembered when ya’ll get fade-up with seein her floppy ass in a silhouette, her face would be off ya screens and maybe her music too. But SJC would always be a gear for the fashion show and especially for the streets, and thats word from the streetz. Diddy aint the best of personalities, but hey, the man can hold his own especially in the music industry. He’s an inspriration for a people who have from the get-go not been given much, to believe that they too not only as a sex, but as a race can get that money. HASTA.
