Kris Allen Says 'Idol' Theme Song Still Makes Him Nervous

American Idol season 8 winner Kris Allen didn't hold back last night before the finale. The Idol alum says he was rooting for Lauren! Plus, he said it's fun being there because he's not the one performing and to this day, the theme song makes him a little nervous!

Kris told OK!, "It's always a little awkward to heard that theme music. It makes me a little nervous." Plus, when he's watching the show he mentioned it's "a little weird" to see his very own face in the show's credits.

Weirdness aside, Kris was looking forward to enjoying the show and rooting for Lauren! Haley and Lauren were his two favorites this year. He confessed to OK!, "So I am rooting for Lauren. I like Scotty. Scotty's great, he's got his thing." Overall though, he thinks the all-country final is pretty cool. "I think it's amazing. I think it's great for the show. It kind of puts them to be successful in the country music industry."

Before Scotty won, Kris shared his thoughts on why guys keep winning the show. "You know the reason for that. Moms and teenage girls are the ones voting. Are they going to vote for Lauren? Maybe."

So now that we know his thoughts, what has the Idol winner been up to lately? "I have been back in L.A. a lot just working and writing some stuff. I am going to Nashville sometime in June to do some writing."
