OMG!! Big news to report!
Zoie rolled over today!
Now, I know that those of you out there that don’t have kids are probably thinking that I’ve lost my mind and obviously need to get a much more exciting life. If so, then read this again after you’ve had a baby and you’ll get much more out of it.
It was such a huge, proud mama moment for me. I was standing in the kitchen washing dishes and Zoie was on her jungle play mat, lying on her back. Then I started to hear these funny little grunting noises, like she was really trying to do something and when I looked over she had flipped onto her tummy!!
I was so excited, I started clapping and jumping up and down. I then ran and grabbed Cody and said, “she’s rolling!!”
When we ran back in, she was on her tummy doing a little mini push-up. It was amazing! I’ve really learned to appreciate the little things like this in life now. To think that all of us started out not even able to roll over, it’s pretty fantastic to think what we can do!
But now I have to figure out how to keep her on her back when she sleeps. When I called my mom and Cody’s mom, they both said this is going to start a whole new stage of life for her and she’ll never just be that little “potato” again!
So, that’s my big “mommy news” for the day. Oh yeah, and that goal I had of “couples time” for Cody and my anniversary? Totally accomplished!
It was so nice, just hanging out, watching movies and being together. He got me beautiful pink and white roses too! So sweet.
The past few days have been great, I couldn’t ask for anything more!
I can’t believe it — This Monday, July 14, is my one-year wedding anniversary!
Time goes by so fast, and this year has been so full of big things! We are planning a BBQ with some friends tomorrow to celebrate, so today has been full of house cleaning and trips to Costco (I love that place!).
What I really want to do this weekend though is find some time with Cody to just be a “couple” for a few hours. Having a new baby definitely changes things — in a wonderful way of course. But there is some adjustment! Where we used to be able to just run to the store or go see a movie, that now requires a LOT more planning. Lucky for us, we have some willing grandmas to watch Zoie.
And I swear, the baby has uncanny timing to figure out when we’re about to sit and eat or when I finally put my feet up to read a book. All you moms out there can relate, I’m sure!
I think one of the key things to making a relationship work, especially with kids, is having some “adult” time, where the conversations don’t include diapers, bottles and a burp cloth draped over one shoulder!
So that’s my goal for this weekend — To have my husband all to myself for a couple of hours and remember that before we were parents, we were partners!
Hi everyone — I hope you all had a great Fourth of July!
Our weekend was pretty calm, but fun. We went to Dave Coulier's house for a BBQ on Friday and had a really nice — but hot! — time.
We took Zoie with us; it was one of the few times we were able to bring her. Usually when we are out, the evenings are so late we just can't take her along. But she was so good for us while we were there! She was hanging out by the pool and taking a nap. Zoie is such a great baby!

That was the only day of the week I didnt stick to my diet though, but even then I didn't blow it too bad — a chicken kabob and some spinach dip.
Then the next day was a family day at my parents' house with Cody, Zoie and me as well as Cody's mom. That day I stuck to my program and brought along my yummy NutriSystem fajitas. Then I had a chocolate cake (also NutriSystem) for dessert. It was fun! The grandparents are just in love with Zoie.
As for the exercising, I've been doing my workouts much more this week, but it's been hard! Mostly because I still have a hurt foot. I stubbed my two toes on my left foot really hard two weeks ago, and it's not getting any better!
But I'm determined to keep going, so I've been modifying my exercises slightly. I'm hoping it's going to get better soon. I can be such a klutz!
Let's hope I don't injure anything else in the near future!
So, I have really exciting news!
I got the part that I auditioned for in the film! I'm so thrilled about it.
This will be the first film I’ve ever done and I can’t wait! It’s called Port City, it’s a dark comedy and I’ll be playing one of the lead characters, Nancy.
The film begins shooting in August in North Carolina and I’ll be gone for about a month. Luckily, Cody and Zoie will be coming with me; there’s no way I could be away from my family for that long!
Here’s the funny part though, Cody is terrified of flying and has never been on a plane. So he’s going to be driving to NC! Little Zoie and I will be flying and he’s going to leave a couple days before me to meet up when we get there. Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the car on that trip!
We are also really gearing up to start pitching our reality show to several networks, it would be great to include the new movie in our show.
Of course, all of this work now means one thing: GET IN SHAPE!
I’m really proud of myself this week, I’ve been working out a lot more and totally sticking to my Nutrisystem. Just doing that, I’ve lost another two pounds this past week.
I’m almost to my goal weight of 120, just 12 more pounds to go. So I’ve really got to step it up this next month!
There are so many great things going on right now, I can’t wait to see what the future holds! Now I’ve got to finish typing this blog and go get my butt on the treadmill!!
