Paramore Talk ‘Twilight,’ Touring, 2009

Paramore’s Hayley Williams is thrilled to be part of the Twilight sensation. The band’s tunes Decode and I Caught Myself are featured on the soundtrack. But she was always a fan of the books.

“I think it’s a phenomenon,” Hayley, who turns 20 on Saturday, says. “We’re just thrilled to be a part of it. Our fans were part of our following before we blew up, and I think it means something to them, too. It’s opened a whole new world, and it definitely means a lot for our career. It’s changed a lot.”

Team Edward or Team Jacob?

“I feel good about both of them,” she says. “On one hand, one is the hero, and on another hand, the other is the hero, but I don’t know. I like both of them at different times.”

Guitarist Josh Farro admits the band would be thrilled with a spot in the forthcoming sequel New Moon. “We’re not campaigning, but we’d love to be part of it,” he says.

Hayley
can’t live without her Sidekick when she’s on the road.

“It’s awesome,” she tells me. “I can keep up with friends and family, and this game on it is called Bunny Chow and you can play anybody who has a Sidekick -- anywhere. It’s sort of like Connect Four, but you can tag your roommate or your friend. I tag my roommate all the time, like ‘let’s play.’ We play Connect Four.”

What’s in store for 2009? For one thing, a new record.

“We’re just getting started,” she says. “Josh is writing like crazy, with music and stuff, and I’m listening to lyrics and melodies. So far I’ve been really stoked with everything. It’s interesting. We definitely have a lot to talk about. We’ve been through a lot this year. I can’t wait to get it all out and see what we have in us.”

BIGGEST LOSER: HEALTHY HOLIDAY TIPS
(Courtesy NBC)

It’s the holiday season, which means we (okay, me!) can’t help but chow down on Christmas cookies and holiday ham (and then there’s the seven days of Kwanzaa, oh delicious goodness!).

Knowing that the New Year – and new healthy resolutions – are right around the corner, I called on The Biggest Loser winner Michelle Aguilar for some helpful hints on how not to pig out during the season to be jolly.

Here’s Michelle’s top tips:

•    Remember that food is fuel.  Try not to over-indulge.

•    Even though it is cold outside, try to be consistent with your exercises.  You can use your own body weight for things like lunges, squats, push-ups, etc. and even do them at home.

•    Drink some warm water before a big meal.  It will help you to feel full faster.

•    Bring your own healthy snacks so you're not tempted to binge.

•    When all else fails, whiten your teeth to fight cravings.

All good things to remember, except when my sister’s slicing into her famous sweet potato pie. (I promise, only one small slice!)

Catch the new season of The Biggest Loser: Couples, Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Momma's Boys: Rob and Esther Kluge!
(Courtesy NBC)

Rob and Esther Kluge made their TV debut last week as Rob looked for love – and mom looked closely over his shoulder – on the new reality show Momma’s Boys.

That doesn’t seem to be a problem for the mom and son duo from Marlboro, N.J., who told our outgoing intern, Elizabeth Olubodun, they’ve always been close when they stopped by the OK! office.

Why did you choose to do the show?

Rob:  My mom said no matter how old I am I will always be her baby. That’s the reason I did the show, to show the world how close I am with my mom and what a special person she is.

Esther
: It gave me an opportunity to re-bond myself with my son. When the kids were little I gave them equal time. Didn’t want one child to feel like they were first the child.

Was it overwhelming being surrounded by 32 beautiful girls?
Rob: It was very fun,and a great scenario for a guy. The ratio was great. If you go to a bar in New York City, the ratio is like five to one, but here it’s like one to ten. It's the best-case scenario. My mom is like my wingman and I have 32 beautiful girls.

Esther, what was your relationship with the girls?
I really like the girls. They’re really nice, sweet respectful girls.

Rob
: Some of the girls still keep in touch to this day. They call my mom up when they have problems.

Esther: I was a lot of people’s moms when I was away [filming]. I had 32 children.

Rob: She was like the surrogate mom. When there was a problem and people had hard feelings they would go to my mom. She would lend an ear and give them a shoulder to cry on.

How were things on set?
Rob: My mom did well, though she thought she was in her 20’s for a couple weeks and adapted to her surroundings.

Esther: He made sure to say don’t give her anymore of those [drinks].

Rob: I don’t like it when my mom drinks. I’m a little protective in that sense.

Esther:  I’m not a big drinker.

Rob: My concern is that she’s not a big drinker. So one or two drinks can change Esther from my mom to Esther who thinks she’s 20. They’re two different people.

Rob, does your ideal girl have to be a good cook?

Rob: The girl I wind up with has to know her way around the kitchen. My mom knows how to cook. I grew up on five-course meals, five days a week. Anytime I let my mom know I’m coming home I know there’s a prepared meal for me.

Esther: She absolutely has to know how to cook.

Is fellow mom, Mrs. B, really as biased as she came across in the premiere?
Esther: She’s a lovely woman. We got along very well. But different things did come out. Everyone’s entitled to feel what he or she wants and that’s why we live in a free country.

Rob: Mrs. B is a great lady and very loving.  Her problem is she doesn’t know how to talk to people. She wants her son to be with someone that’s of a similar background, but there’s a right way to say that and I think she just maybe said it improperly. I’m hoping over the course of the show everyone will realize Ms. B is a good person, not this bigot and racist she’s being made out to be.

And the other mom?
Esther: The moms were terrific. I got along very well with both moms. We really interacted and did a lot of things together.

Do the guys get along?

Rob: Absolutely. We all get along. They’re such great guys. We did spend a lot of time together and would we tell jokes and stuff. It was a great bonding experience. I compare it to a being in a dorm room or camping out.

How was it working with Ryan Seacrest?
Esther: He’s so nice. The first time I met him he comes up to me and gives me this big hug and says, “Esther I l love you. You’re just like my mom.”

Catch Momma's Boys' first elimination round tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Emma Roberts Holidays With Aunt Julia, Cousins

Emma Roberts is having a blast.

Not only is the 17-year-old beauty an accomplished actress and singer, but she’s also the niece of Julia Roberts.

How do they spend the holidays together?

“I usually stay at home with my family,” the star of January’s Hotel For Dogs tells me. “A couple days before Christmas when we get our tree, we all decorate our tree together and have hot chocolate and family time. It’s important around the holidays.”

Emma enjoys sleepovers with her twin cousins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 4.  (Henry, 1, is too young to join in the parties.)

“We have so much fun running around and playing,” she tells me. “We read and play with dolls. We do what normal little kids do. I love them.”

For their birthdays last month, she bought them “really cute knit hats.” She also gave Hazel a doll, and Phinnaeus a dinosaur painting set.

What’s the best advice Aunt Julia has given her?

“I don’t really ask her for advice, to be honest. When we’re together -- since we don’t really get to be together that often -- we have family time.”

Hotel For Dogs is in theaters January 23.
