As temperatures continue to top 100 degrees across the country, Whitney Port steps up to the rescue, offering her tips for looking chic when the summer sun beats down.

First up? The hair.

“I love the Frédéric Fekkai surf spray that creates beachy waves without having to actually go in the ocean,” the reality star-turned-fashion designer, 27, tells me when she hosts Fiji Presents: Summer Soak Miami at Rooftop Pool at Perry South Beach.

As for coping with sweat?

“I know this may sound a little strange,” she cautions, “but I was taught that if your face gets a little oily and you don’t have an absorbing sheet, you can use a toilet seat cover.”

Eww! Can you imagine? (Whatever works, though.)

Among her beach style must-haves are denim cut-off shorts, Illesteva sunglasses, Havaianas, and Neutrogena spray-on sunscreen.

“None of my vacations this summer allow me the peace and quiet to plop myself down and enjoy a book. I will probably be reading magazines!”

Whitney had a blast at the event, where guests lounged in the sun and enjoyed the Fiji Water Snow Cone Bar. Fun times!
