Fashion Week Diary: Day One

•At the Tommy Hilfiger party for his book Iconic America, whose proceedes will go to UNICEF, held at the MOMA, performer Debbie Harry of Blondie was excited to talk about her new album, Necessary Evil. She told OK!: “It’s a bunch of rock songs. It’s mostly songs about love, oddly enough. I have a great appreciation of it and all the forms that it takes and I felt like it’s such an important thing in all of our lives especially when we’re dealing with radical theology.”
Meanwhile, the man of the evening, Mr. Hilfiger himself, who is showing his 50’s inspired collection next week, opened up to OK! about his place in pop culture history. “Tommy Hilfiger’s inspiration from the very, very beginning has always been about embracing iconic America. From places like Nantucket to Malibu to Florida to Texas. If you think about it, America embodies a richness and spirit and diversity that no other country embodies,” he said.
