Britney Booked!

The long, strange trip of Britney Spears continues. At 9:25 p.m. last night the troubled singer showed up at the Van Nuys County Jail to be booked for charges of hit and run causing property damage and driving without a valid California license, both stemming from a parking lot fender bender that occurred on August 6 in the San Fernando Valley.

The scheduled booking took about an hour and went off without a hitch. The 25-year-old fallen pop star entered the jail through the front door wearing a black mini dress and black jacket. She was not put in a holding cell, but was photographed and fingerprinted before being released, and by all accounts remained cooperative throughout.
