Daughter of a screenwriter and a director plus, sister of A-list actor Jake, it's no surprise that Maggie Gyllenhaal pursued showbiz. Maggie made her film debut alongside her brother in Donnie Darko, but while the cult hit shot Jake to fame Maggie struggled to make a name for herself. She didn't have to struggle for long though. A year later Maggie starred in the twisted S&M lovestory Secretaryand earned the actress indie fame (oh, and Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award nominations). Maggie has since starred in films such as Mona Lisa Smile, Stranger Than Fiction, Sherrybaby, The Dark Knight and Crazy Heart, which earned her first Oscar nomination. Maggie is currently married to actor Peter Sarsgaard, whom she began dating in 2002 and with whom she had her daughter Ramona in 2006.
