Adopted by Lionel Richie, Nicole Richie entered the privileged L.A. lifestyle and in kindergarten met her Simple Life co-star Paris Hilton. The show lasted five seasons, amidst their on-and-off friendship, DUI charges, drug abuse, and rumors of an eating disorder. Aside from her career in television, Nicole is a published author having written a semi-autobiographical novel, The Truth About Diamonds, and an accomplished fashion and jewelry designer, with labels House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate. A frequent face in the tabloid press, her relationships received just as much attention. Having dated DJ AM and Brody Jenner, it was when Nicole stepped out with Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden that things got serious. They have two children together, Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight Madden. Nicole and Joel finally married in 2010.
