It took 15 years together and three different lineups, but their destiny was ultimately fulfilled.

Destiny's Child, the world's best-selling girl group of all time with more than 100 million records sold, disbanded two years ago after wrapping up a whirlwind tour in support of their last disc, Destiny Fulfilled.

A sign or what?

The trio made the announcement three months earlier, releasing a statement saying:

"We have been working together as Destiny's Child since we were 9, and touring together since we were 14. After a lot of discussion and some deep soul searching, we realized that our current tour has given us the opportunity to leave Destiny's Child on a high note, united in our friendship and filled with an overwhelming gratitude for our music, our fans, and each other...No matter what happens, we will always love each other as friends and sisters and will always support each other as artists. We want to thank all of our fans for their incredible love and support and hope to see you all again as we continue fulfilling our destinies."

Reason for the split, they say, was to allow everyone to pursue other opportunities. We know Beyonce celebrated a B'Day and became a Dreamgirl, but what about Kelly and Michelle?

Before collapsing onstage in Nigeria due to dehydration two months ago, Ms. Kelly released her much-delayed second album of the same name in July to positive reviews and sales. The singer also dabbled in acting, guesting on Girlfriends and Eve. Less rosy was her personal life — she called off her engagement to Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams last year and is still looking for Mr. Right.

Meanwhile, Michelle fell into The Gap and is currently on a national tour of The Color Purple, in which she plays Shug Avery. No worries — she's still making music. A new album is expected next year.

As for a DC3 reunion, chances are looking better. Just this year, the girls came together to shoot Beyonce's video for "Get Me Bodied."
