Malan's Musings: Fashion Friday Is Here!

Darlings everything sparkles in Gold, Silver, and Bronze this week, the 2012 London Olympics will forever change the way we look at the male form in fashion.
From the opening ceremony wearing Ralph Lauren, to the brilliant Adidas training garments that pleasantly form the physiques of Sam Mikulak and Jake Dalton, to the sleek swimming uniforms of fourteen time gold medal winner and American heartthrob Michael Phelps, and the incredibly photogenic Ryan Lochte, designed by Speedo. The bodies of these athletes giving a template for brilliant designers to work with. I cannot wait to see what these Olympics inspire for the upcoming fashion season.

From Olympic fashion to the red carpets of Hollywood, men like Matt Lanter, going retro 90's in his ode to the Gap's "Individuals of Style Campaign", Michael Steger in his ode to um... what colour bleu are you going for darling? Is it Royal? Is it Navy? Is it Periwinkle? Or is it a potpourri of oh lets just put it all together and hope it photographs well bleu? Call me I would love to offer my help!
This is what bleu should look like.... Stephen Amell looks so chic in this butterfly peak lapel suit and the subtle touch of navy tie, takes his look to a realm of super-stardom, BRAVO! But darlings my favourite man of the week, Jay Ryan, the Beau Brummel of this weeks red carpets, gives new definition to slate grey. Everything is perfect, even the perfect length of hair, this is a man to watch for when looking at men's trends in fashion. Alas his date Kristin Kreuk appears to be wearing a two pieces of fabric that were knotted together to make what resembles a bath towel dress. You know the kind you see in the Sky Mall catalogue in first class. I do love the bath towel dress Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany but this is not one of my favourite looks. Putting that much pleating on ones hips is as flattering as walking onto the red carpet with your toothbrush.
OK! GALLERY: JESSICA BIEL, COLIN FARRELL AND KATE BECKINSALE AT TOTAL RECALL PHOTOCALL IN L.A.
Darlings we all know a healthy smile is the perfect accessory for any ensemble, and the gleaming whites shining on Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell are stunning, not to mention Colin's brilliantly rugged look, and Jessica's stunning beaded lace shift. I adore Kate Beckinsale, but a 1940's school marm she is not, there is a much more feminine and chic way to do this dress, I know because I did it for my Spring 2010 women's collection.
I am in love with Katharine McPhee's... ankle boots, darling the shape is chic, the colour is perfect for any ensemble, and the off the shoulder cashmere knit she is wearing, worn with these boots makes the perfect statement. What that statement is, ummm... I will have to get back to to you on that.
Keri Russell has always been the one to watch for the next great hair trend, from her coveted Felicity curls, to her shorn pageboy look. She once again is giving us the do of all doo's, I adore her loose chic braid.
Well darlings I close the week with one last thought, one I hope you will remember for many many years to come... Always remember you are beautiful from the inside out, no matter what designer you wear.
I wish you all love and glamour,
Bisous,
