Madonna's making the anticipated skip across the pond from London to NYC, and it seems she's doing it in true Material Girl style: The New York Post reports Madge has signed a contract to buy a $40 million townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
"The townhouse is perfect for Madonna," according to one source. "She's trying to recreate London in New York City, and this is in the style of a London townhouse."

Beyond style, this swanky pad appears to be tricked out with all the perks of a lush life, boasting 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, a two-car garage, 3,000-square-foot garden, nine fireplaces, an elevator and a wine cellar with a grotto. All those bedrooms will definitely come in handy, especially if Madonna's request to adopt Malawian Mercy James is granted.
