WHEN I OPEN UP MY CLOSET, I FEEL OVERWHELMED. I HAVE A LOT OF CLOTHES, AND YET I ALWAYS END UP WEARING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER. WHAT CAN I DO?
It’s normal to have a closet full of clothes and still feel like you have nothing to wear. Here’s a helpful little trick: Limit yourself to 10 different items in your closet (e.g., a blouse, T-shirt, blazer, skirt, dress, vest, scarf, textured tights, dress pants, jeans), and over the course of the week, mix and match those 10 items as best you can. I promise you’ll be creating fashion-forward looks you never would have put together before. POSTED BY - judyblueeyes THU AUGUST 07, 2008 5:42PM
I LIKE TO WEAR A LOT OF JEWELRY, BUT SOMETIMES I THINK I OVERDO IT. IS THERE SUCH A THING AS WEARING TOO MUCH?
As someone who loves jewelry, my first inclination is: You can never wear too much! But, alas, that’s not really the case. POSTED BY - ducky WED JULY 30, 2008 3:27PM
I'VE NEVER LOOKED GOOD IN HATS, BUT I KEEP SEEING CELEBRITIES WEARING THEM AND I ALWAYS MAKE AN EFFORT TO KEEP UP WITH HOLLYWOOD TRENDS. DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS TO HELP ME PICK OUT THE PERFECT CAP?
Hats are tricky. It's not just about what's in style - you must consider your face shape, and even the size of your body. For instance, if you have a longer face, you'll want to opt for wider styles, but if your face is rounder, choose a taller top. Similar guidelines work for the frame of your body. If you're petite, smaller headgear will look best, while bigger hats suit fuller figures.I recently fell victim to following a celeb trend without considering my features when I bought a straw fedora. I tried it with a million different outfits, but it just didn't look right. Finally I realized that my face is too narrow for the style. So I guess the real hat trick is this: If a trend doesn't suit you, ditch it for something that complements your unique assets. |
