IS IT TRUE CHRISTINA AGULARA IS PREGNANT?

I wish I could tell you I had first-hand knowledge of Christina's pregnancy, but I don't... and the singer has yet to actually confirm it. That being said, I've heard from a number of Xtina's close friends and industry insiders that she and Jordan are indeed expecting. Of course, Paris Hilton herself infamously shot her mouth off the other night at a party hosted by Christina, telling the gathered crowd that the former Mouseketeer was "the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world."

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO FASCINATED WITH PARIS HILTON?

That's actually not so simple a question to answer. After all, she's not really a singer (despite the album); not exactly an actress (in spite of a handful of movie and TV roles); nor is she a self-sacrificing humanitarian (nevermind what she told Larry King). Instead of looking at why she's famous; let's examine why so many have issues with this particular party girl.

Some gripe that "she's only famous because she's rich," but if you think about that in any depth, it doesn't hold up. Wealth does NOT equal fame; I personally know several dozen mult-milllionaires (not to mention a handful of billionaires) under 30 who NEVER make the gossip page and who walk the streets of New York, L.A., London and France every day without turning a single head.

Others say "all she does is go to parties!" So? Wouldn't you if you could? Honestly, as much as I love my job, a big part of me would relish the chance to cash it all in and hop from movie premiere to restaurant opening to A-list birthday bash without ever having to worry about a deadline.

So, are folks just jealous? Yes and no. Inside each of us, even the most staunch conservative, lurks someone aching to breathe the rarefied air of celebrity, to hop on a private jet with complete disregard to cost. And of course, we ALL think that, should we be lucky enough to live Paris "simple life," we would OBVIOUSLY do a better job of it and be more "responsible" about our behavior. And that, I believe, is where the loathing creeps into some people's souls. They see Paris — someone who has been provided with inhuman amounts of money and fame, but who makes some very human errors in judgment; an almost unforgivable sin to many.

I think my friend sums it up best. "I look at Paris the same way I look at a banged-up Rolls Royce — with a hearty mix of envy, pity and lust."
