2005 - R. Kelly puts on a one-man show
The VMAs always deliver the shock and awe factor, but it was a shock and awe of a different sort when R. Kelly took the stage to perform "Trapped in the Closet," his 12-part video rap opera. The singer gave arguably the weirdest performance ever, acting out every part by himself. Someone get the man an Oscar!
