Black Eyed Peas Set for "Big Spectacle" at Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show
Asides from the actual game and hilarious commercial ads, the Super Bowl halftime show generates almost as much excitement from fans as watching the Steelers take on the Packers. The Black Eyed Peas reveal that they are pumped to take Dallas by storm this afternoon to kick off the second half of the 2011 football showdown.
“We're known for doing outlandish things and we're going to make this a big spectacle," Will.i.am explained of the group’s halftime show plans via the Huffington Post.
The Black Eyed Peas, also featuring Fergie, Apl.de.ap, and Taboo, have been winning over fans on stage for years, but Will.i.am says that he wants to blow their Super Bowl performance out of the park.
“This isn't about winning people over. But even if people don't like us, I want them to say 'That s**t was crazy!,” the singer said, “That was the best 13-minutes I've seen! And that guy Will.i.am is awesome as s**t. Damn!'"
R&B star Usher and rocker Slash are also set to make an appearance during the much anticipated intermission show, while vocalist Christina Aguilera is geared up to open the game with the national anthem.
Super Bowl XLV kicks off tonight at 6:30 ET with the Pittsburgh Steelers playing against the Greenbay Packers for the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy.
