NEWSBrooke Burke Prepares for Thyroid Surgery And Says "She's Planning on a Speedy Recovery"

It was a total shock when Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke announced she has thyroid cancer.
The 41, year-old lives a healthy lifestyle and is one of the last people you'd think would have cancer, but she has been open about her condition and said, "I got my results back and they were not good. I need to have thyroid surgery and a thyroidectomy, which means I'm going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck."
Brooke has remained positive and continues to do so even though she's beginning to prep for surgery now she and wrote on her ModernMom blog about how she's feeling.
"The stress and anxiety that I’ve been feeling is now outweighed by love and support, and it is overwhelming in the most beautiful way. I want to tell you that when I saw my cancer news everywhere, it scared me - so I can only imagine the impact that it had on everyone else."

She confesses she wasn't sure how people would react to her news, but she's thankful for all of the support.

"I want to assure everyone that my condition is manageable and I am taking all the proper steps. I never thought I would be applauded by my courage to share the news in a home video., she wrote. "Truth is, I was pretty scared about what the response would be. But I want you all to know that I feel great, my condition is manageable, and I am planning on a speedy recovery."
The mom of four isn't slowing down work wise and ended her blog with this:
"Please know that I am totally ok. I’m at work today getting ready for tonight’s live Dancing with the Stars show. I can feel all the love and support that has come from far and wide which makes me feel fantastic. No worries….see you tonight!"
