Chloe Moretz Offered Lead Role to Star in the Remake of Stephen King's 'Carrie'!
Seems like Hollywood is all about remaking old favorites lately.
And now the latest film gearing up to be remade is Stephen King's Carrie and they have finally chosen who they want for the lead role!
Deadline.com is reporting that MGM has offered Chloe Moretz the role of shy high school student Carrie White, previously played by Sissy Spacek, who was raised by a strictly religious mother, and now has to face her horrifying telepathic power! Piper Laurie played the role of the mother in the original.
Both Sissy and Piper were nominated for Academy Awards when the Brian DePalma film was released in 1976. Could Chloe end up with an Oscar nod as well?
Chloe co-starred in last year's Oscar-nominated Hugo and is already Tweeting her excitement about this new opportunity: "Never been so happy in my life! thank u MGM for the chance of a lifetime i will never forget!"
