Demi Moore's Divorcing Ashton Kutcher: "There are Certain Values & Vows That I Hold Sacred"

Demi Moore announced her decision today to end her marriage with Ashton Kutcher and even offered up a little explanation.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," Demi said in a statement to OK!. "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Demi, 49, and Ashton, 33, married in September 2005. Over a month ago reports and photos surfaced of Ashton's alleged infidelities with 23-year-old Sara Leal.

Ashton took to his Twitter account today to comment on his wife's statement.

"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," he wrote. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

This will be Demi's third divorce. She was previously married to Freddy Moore for 4 years and Bruce Willis for 13 years, whom she had three daughters with before divorcing in 2000.
