Esperanza Spalding's Win Marks Biggest Grammy Upset; Justin Bieber Fans Attack the Jazz Singer
While Justin Bieber held his head high and took on his Grammy losses graciously, his fans aren't too happy Esperanza Spalding took home the title of Best New Artist at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards last night. And we all know how scary a scorned Bieber fan get be. So Beliebers across the country took their anger out on Esperanza's Wikipedia page.
According to MTV News, Esperanza's Wikipedia page was attacked right after her big Grammy win for Best New Artist — the award that may have been the biggest upset of the night as the 26-year-old Jazz singer beat out the 16-year-old pop singing phenom, Drake, Florence and the Machine and Mumford & Sons.
After her victory was noted on the page, a user added the statement, "Justin Bieber deserved it go die in a hole. Who the heck are you anyway?" MTV news reports.
The taunts and jabs continued throughout her pages as the singer's middle name was changed to both "Justin" and "Quesadilla" and her Grammy win was followed by "Even though no one has ever heard of her! Yay!"
Closing her bio read — "Biber 4 Lyfe."
The comments have since been removed.
Bieber's fans need to take a lesson from the star.
While he was upset by his loss, he made sure to properly congratulate Esperanza.
"As for the awards…of course I wanted to win. Its been & still is a dream to win a grammy. Was I upset…yes. But I was happy for her also.” Justin Tweeted, followed by, “Someone said to me tonight its not your successes that define u but your failures.
