EXCLUSIVE! Inside 'Biggest Loser' Trainer Jillian Michaels' Mommy Workout
Even “America’s Toughest Trainer” has a hard time finding time to exercise since adopted daughter Lukensia, 2 ½, and son Phoenix, 4 months, entered Jillian Michaels' life. The Biggest Loser trainer brought the whole family with her to Caesars Atlantic City resort to headline the city’s inaugural Sweat AC, a three-day festival celebrating fitness, nutrition and health.
“I don’t like to leave my kids, especially my daughter because she is adopted,” Jillian explained. Her partner Heidi Rhoades gave birth to their son this summer. “I schlepped the whole family out,” she said. “We’re hoping that by being part of this event, we can get it off the ground and make it an annual thing.”
Jillian, who lead a ballroom full of participants through a tough boot camp style workout, admitted that it’s been harder to find the time to work out since her kids have come along. “Heidi and I will take turns. I’ll say, you go to the gym now and I’ll go on a bike ride tonight. We’ll trade off watching them once or twice a week that way. Or my mom will come over on a Sunday and I can get a workout in — I use my friends and family to my advantage!”
The children have also become part of Jillian’s fitness plan. She’ll put Phoenix in a sling and take him hiking, or put her daughter on her bike for a ride. “If my son is sleeping but my daughter’s up, I’ll try to do some exercises at home,” she says. “Lu thinks it’s hilarious [to watch]. She’s laughing her butt off!"
In addition to working on a new book, Jillian is scheduled to return to the Biggest Loser this January.
