It was a short-lived affair, but those close to Katy Perry say the singer wasn't ready for her romance with famed philanderer, John Mayer, to end.

After only a few weeks of dating, John reportedly called it quits with the divorcée, but in Katy's head the two were just getting started.
"They weren't serious, but she was really starting to fall for him," a source told People. "She wasn't seeing forever with him, but saw it lasting longer than it did."
Meanwhile, John did what John does best — Tomcat around West Hollywood where he was spotted flirting with a bevy of women at ritzy watering hole, Soho House on Thursday. The spy says the singer had a few drinks and was "leading the conversation" (but of course!).
The fact this pair are dunzo should come as no shock considering John's dating past. This is the man who tattled about ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson's sexual prowess to Playboy, blabbed about Jennifer Aniston on Twitter and broke Taylor Swift's heart so badly she penned the disgruntled hit, "Dear John."

That being said, Katy wasn't exactly in hiding on Thursday night either. The brunette beauty danced with pals at Hollywood nightspot, Bootsy Bellows, where she was "very into the performance" by L.A.-based singer Ferras.
