Lady Gaga Thanks Whitney Houston During Speech
Lady Gaga's acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys last night left many fans and Twitter users a little confused. During the latter part of her speech, Lady Gaga thanked Whitney Houston and said she imagined the pop icon singing her newest hit Born This Way which ultimately gave her confidence to write the song!
According to PopEater, Lady Gaga stated, "I wanted to thank Whitney, because when I wrote Born this Way, I imagined she was singing it -- because I wasn't secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar. So, Whitney, I imagined you were singing Born This Way when I wrote it."
Although it may have seemed odd to fans at first, there was a striking resemblance in Lady Gaga's Born This Way to another icon — Madonna. As she entered the stage in an egg for her performance, there was some talk about similarities to Madonna's hit, Express Yourself.
