LL Cool J Intruder Charged, Faces Life In Prison
LL Cool J heroically took down a man who broke into his Sherman Oaks, California home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
And now transient Jonathan Kirby has been charged with first-degree burglary with a person present but could face 38 years behind bars if convicted because this is his third strike, having racked at least two prior convictions for serious offenses, according to reports.
Los Angeles County prosecutors are requesting that bail is set at $1.1 million for the 56-year-old homeless man.
The NCIS: Los Angeles actor was startled when Kirby allegedly broke into his home and set off the alarm.
LL's training as a special agent on the hit show and being in pristine physical condition helped the star to deal with the issue leaving Kirby with a broken nose, jaw and ribs.
The 44-year-old apparently found Kirby in the kitchen where they had a "knock-out" fight and the muscular actor held him down until police arrived.
"LL Cool J and his family are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern," a statement from the actor's rep said. "As a father, husband and citizen, LL Cool J is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter."
LL has been married to wife Simone for 17 years and they have four children together.
