Mother of 'Modern Family' Star Ariel Winter Denies Abuse Allegations

There's no denying that Modern Family is one of the hottest shows on TV! So, when it comes to its stars, the spotlight shines brightly on not only Sofia Vergara but the whole cast.

Well, Ariel Winter's mother denied allegations that she abuses her daughter. This is in response to the fact that Ariel has a restraining order against her and has moved out of the house -- at 14 years-old!

Her mom, Chris Workman, told People, "It's all untrue, it's all untrue."

Well, in early October court documents indicate that Ariel alleges her mother subjected her to "ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name-calling, personal insults about minor and minor's weight, attempts to 'sexualize' minor, deprivation of food, etc.) for an extended period of time."

To that point, last month a judge ordered Ariel's older sister, Shanelle Gray, temporary guardianship until November 20 when a follow up hearing will be held. The judge also ordered Chris to not have any contact with her daughter until further notice.

That sounds pretty serious to us!
