Regis & Joy Philbin "Stock Up on Advil" for Life After 'Live With Regis & Kelly'

Regis Philbin and Joy Philbin have teamed up with Advil for a new campaign and are sharing their true Advil story. We thought their need for tough pain relief might be after watching a Notre Dame game, but instead, the couple trusts Advil to help them beat their opponents on the tennis court.

"I’d been taking Advil for a long, long time and so has Joy," Regis tells OK!, "especially now that we’ve become tennis players and all these years we’ve played tennis. But at night you feel a little creaky and all of the sudden this Advil has kind of saved..."

"Kind of an important part of our lives now," Joy explains. You know the older you get, the more pain that you [have], just running around a tennis court for a couple hours can be difficult."

And Regis tells OK! that this whole campaign came about due to David Letterman!

After Regis announced on Live With Regis and Kelly that he was going to be leaving the show, David gave his top ten list about how the news was affecting Joy.

"And one of them was, ‘Well now that Regis is going to be home I better stock up on the Advil and the Kahlua,’ which really struck me funny because I do stock up on the Advil," Joy explains. "And I thought how do they know that? But it was said at the beginning of our relationship."

"Yeah! We’re going to take them to dinner!" Regis exclaims. "And they’re going to win $25,000."

"And a tour of New York," Joy adds. "That’s a nice surprise."

"Yeah, they’re going to go to various shows, whatever shows they want on Broadway," Regis explains. "It’s going to be a great weekend for them."
