Rosie O'Donnell Postpones Wedding Due to Fiancée Michelle Rounds Illness
Rosie O'Donnell won't be throwing the wedding of the year, afterall.
Sadly, Rosie's fiancée, Michelle Rounds, has been diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare kind of ailment that forms on the arms, legs, abdomen or chest and can invade surrounding tissues and organs.
On her blog, Rosie described the tumors as "odd and curious beasts, strong and sneaky a non cancer that acts cancerous."
Michelle underwent surgery in June and Rosie reports she's recovering and "getting stronger everyday."
The two plan to wed next summer.
Rosie met Michelle at a Starbucks last summer and within a few months the two were planning on swapping I Do's, and announced their engagement last December.
Rosie told Nightline this fall it took guts to approach Michelle because "she's very beautiful."
"I thought she was a 28-year-old heterosexual girl, because that’s what she looked like to me," Rosie said of spying her blonde-tressed fiancée at Starbucks. "And she’s a 40-year-old gay woman. My gaydar was way off!”
Get well soon, Michelle.
