Rupert Sanders Says His Affair With Kristen Stewart is "The Worst Mistake of His Life"
Rupert Sanders and Twilight star Kristen Stewart shocked everyone with their affair, and now the 41-year-old is crushed his fling has caused his wife Liberty Ross so much distress that he's afraid she may not forgive him.
Radaronline.com reports The Snow White and the Huntsman director is distraught over what he did and has told friends his indiscretion with Kristen is "the worst mistake of my life."
"Liberty is not making this easy for Rupert, not surprisingly," a source close to the situation said. "She is refusing to see him right now and has not spoken to him about if they have a future together or not. Rupert is willing to do absolutely anything and everything he can to save his marriage, he realizes this is the worst mistake of his life, and he cannot believe he was so stupid."
The 33-year-old model and mother of their two children was spotted out on Sunday not wearing her wedding ring and the insider said she's not sure their marriage will ever be the same.
"Liberty has told Rupert she just doesn't think she will be able to trust him again," the source says. "This affair went on right under her nose and she feels like he has made her look like a fool," and it's devastating Rupert.
"The thought of losing his wife and children, who he loves more than anything in the world is killing him. Rupert is just hoping it will blow over soon and he can win her back, but that is looking ever increasingly unlikely."
Kristen and her boyfriend Robert Pattinson of three years are not handling the scandal well either. Both are heartbroken, but Rob is managing somewhat better by focusing on work and staying committed to promoting his upcoming film Cosmopolis. He has even agreed to do his first interview since the news broke of Kristen's unfaithfulness with ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday, August 15, meanwhile it's been reported Kristen is so upset she hasn't showered and has been "crying non-stop" since their split.
