Mary Tyler Moore Swings Into The Lipstick Jungle

Mary Tyler Moore says she loves watching the women on Lipstick Jungle "go at it week after week".

And she can't wait to get in on the action!

The seventies TV icon is going to star in a handul of episodes in the second season of the NBC hit show about the lives of high-powered magazine execs.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the star of the Mary Tyler Moore Show will play the retired mother of Brooke studio-executive character and a one-time pioneer for working women.

''I'm fortunate to have had a front row seat to the evolution of working women on television,'' Moore told the magazine.

''It's been great fun to watch the strong female characters of Lipstick Jungle go at it week after week. I absolutely adore Brooke and I'm delighted to be a part of a show which is so well written.''

The 71-one-year old will begin her stint on the show, based on the Candace Bushnell novel, will begin with the season premiere on September 24.
