Annie Lennox is recovering at home after having surgery on her spine, her rep said today.

The Eurythmics singer was in Mexico last week for the International AIDS Conference when her back suddenly went into spasm.

Annie, 53, said on her blog the next morning that it was the worst pain she's ever suffered and that it made her left foot go totally numb.

But her people just released a statement saying that she's now had spinal surgery to release a trapped nerve, which should fix the numbness.

"The surgery went as planned, and Annie is now recuperating at home," a rep said this morning.

"Annie would like to send her thanks and appreciation to all that have sent their well wishes in the past few days."

The Sweet Dreams singer was set to release a retrospective record on September 16th, but that's been put back to Spring 2009 to give her time to recover properly.

Get better soon Annie!
