If you've ever wondered whether Carrie Bradshaw was more of a mean girl or a nerdy bookworm in high school, mark your calendars for 2010: Candace Bushnell is currently writig a pair of teen novels called The Carrie Diaries, which will show readers how the Sex and the City character got her start.

The series ''takes readers back to Carrie Bradshaw's formative years in high school, giving an inside look at Carrie's friendships, romances and how she realized her dream of becoming a writer,'' HarperCollins announced today.

While ostensibly sporting the hottest fashions at the time, ''Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd – she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene," says Candace in a statement.

We can't wait to read about her closet!
