Beyonce Opens Up About Marriage

Months after she and Jay-Z wed in NYC, after much speculation about the status of their relationship, Beyonce is finally opening up about her main man.

"What Jay and I have is real," she tells Essence in its November issue. It's not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It's real," Beyonce told Essence magazine in its November issue.

And while other celebs love to rock huge diamond engagement rings, the singer says she's different – she wears a band over a tattoo of the Roman numeral IV, signifiying their wedding date (April 4) and the fact that she and her husband were both born on the fourth of the month.

"People put too much emphasis on that," she says of engagement rings. "It's just material and it's just silly to me."

Beyonce adds that their nuptials were small, because she's not a "traditional woman."

"It's been my day so many days already," she explains.
