"Braids are everywhere right now and can be timeless, if done properly," says Celebrity Stylist Hasblady Guzman. "I also love them because they can provide a 'facelift' if done close enough to the hair line." Well who doesn't want that?! Kim K's messy braid is divine in its imperfection. The whole point is it’s got a loose, messy, tousled feel. She’s red-carpet ready, but she didn’t try too hard. Get the Look: Part your hair on the left and start a french braid. Continue on the top of the head and then down along the outside of the head (away from the part) until you reach the center back of the head. Now start pulling hair from the crown into your braid. Continue braiding, moving in a circle around the head. Hug the head with the braid, following it down behind the right ear. Now that you have reached the back of the other ear, grab the hair from the opposite side (that has not been braided) and start braiding that in towards the back of the ear. Marry this hair with the hair from the other side. Continue the braid down the shoulder to the end and secure it with a rubber band. With a rat-tail comb, start to loosen the braid. Then take both hands to further loosen the braid, being careful not to pull too hard—just hard enough to make the braid wider. Allow small pieces to come undone along the way. To finish it off, use Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine.
