"Braids are everywhere right now and can be timeless, if done properly," says Celebrity Stylist Hasblady Guzman. "I also love them because they can provide a 'facelift' if done close enough to the hair line." Well who doesn't want that?! Kerry's style is a beautiful way to do half-up half-down hair. I would even add an orchid to it to make it more exotic. Get the Look: Your hair needs to be at least 18-inches long. Take a section of hair from behind your left ear and braid it upside down against your scalp, as a french braid. Gather more hair as you go until you get to the top of your head, then continue it as a regular braid—loose away from the head—for the remainder of the length. Take the remainder of the braid down the right side of your head, which will create a headband as you pin it down your head and hide it into your hair. Then, take the hair on the top of your head (just behind the braid) and back-comb it while applying hairspray. Pin it and lay that hair over the end of your braid to cover the pinned end.
