Donna Karan Hosts The Urban Zen Stephan Weiss Apple Awards
Fashion designer Donna Karan hosted The Urban Zen Stephan Weiss Apple Awards yesterday at the Urban Zen Center in NYC. Despite the vicious thunderstorm, celebrities came to support her efforts in honoring leaders who promote movements in our country. Some of the A-list stars included Ashton Kutcher with Demi Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Uma Therman, Editor in chief of Vogue Anna Wintour, Russell Simmons, and more.

This is the first year that Donna has organized these awards, celebrating humanitarian efforts, which she hopes to turn into an annual event. “It’s not only [about] dressing people, it’s addressing them,” said Donna.

The ceremony's name derived from Donna's late husband, who lost a brutal battle to cancer ten years ago. Honorees of the night included former president Bill Clinton for cultural preservation efforts, Dr. Oz for healthcare, and education activist Courtney Ross. From musicians, to actors, and designers, Donna had quite the support system. Congratulations to Donna and her efforts, who hope to see this again next year!
