George Clooney on Being President: "Why Would Anyone Volunteer for That Job?"

George Clooney is debuting his fourth directorial feature The Ides of March at the 68th Venice Film Festival in Italy on Wednesday. The actor/director showed up for a photocall looking glamorous in a boat before walking the red carpet at the Palazzo del Cinema alongside co-stars Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei.

In the film, George plays a governor vying for the Democratic presidential nomination. But will art imitate life for this dashing actor?
At a news conference in Venice, George told reporters: "As for running for president, look, there's a guy in office right now who is smarter than almost anybody you know, who is nicer, has more compassion than almost anybody else you know, who is having an almost impossible time governing. Why would anybody volunteer for that job?"

George also has a very tempting reason to stay in show business.
“I have a really good job. I get to hang out with very seductive people. So I have no interest."
And he wasn't joking. George has worked with some of the sexiest women in Hollywood including Anna Kendrick, Julia Roberts, Diane Lane and Uma Thurman.
