Grammy-Nominated Kelly Clarkson: Awesome for 10 Years and Counting

Kelly Clarkson has never been arrested. She's never been married, divorced, or worn overalls to meet an important political figure. Considering she's been in the public eye for ten years, all this is quite incredible, wouldn't you say?
Kelly's been nominated for three Grammys this year, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Stronger, and Best Pop Solo Performance and Best for the title track."Stronger" is also up for Song of the Year (a writer's award). In reaction to the news, Kelly Tweeted: "My friends surprised me this morning with awesome news! I have the best friends. 10 years later and still so excited!"
TEN YEARS?! We can hardly believe it! Kelly is just as relevant today as she was when she was crowned the first American Idol winner back in 2002, and we thought we'd take a little trip back in time to celebrate her successes. Those friends she mentioned in the Tweet chose to celebrate with mimosas, but they did so at 5 a.m., so we feel like our celebrations even out in terms of awesomeness.
Check out the video of Kelly being surprised with the news here! It's pretty adorable, so we'll add it to our list of reasons we love Kelly. Some other reasons are all right here!
"Stronger" has been a critical and commercial success for Kelly. It debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawned several hit singles: "Mr. Know It All," "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" and "Dark Side." In February of this year, Kelly began dating Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager and Reba McEntire's stepson. "We were just in a room together, and then he came up and said he was from the same hometown as me and I was like, 'oh, we're so getting married' -- I was so that girl," Kelly recalled during an interview on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM morning radio show. "When he became single, I was on the prowl." Last month, Kelly performed a medley of her favorite career hits at the American Music Awards (and she did so with her "American Idol" audition number pinned to her outfit). Kelly's "Greatest Hits: Chapter 1" album was released on Nov. 19. Less than a month after that milestone (which brings us to today), our girl was nominated for a Grammy for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo for "Stronger."
