Katie Holmes spent some quality time with her daughter Suri Cruise this afternoon having brunch at The Cookshop in the trendy Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

Afterwards, Suri was spotted having a lengthy phone conservation and dancing around as her mom watched the 6-year-old chat away.

Later in the day, the two went to the city's midtown area and Suri got scared by the mob of people surrounding them. Katie is seen putting her arm around her daughter as they make their way through the crowd.

Suri is currently enrolled in Avenues, a $40,000-a-year private school that caters to the lifestyle of children like the famous child of Katie and Tom Cruise.

The school has 20 campuses on five continents, which allows students to travel whenever they please. They can continue their lesson plans at various locations without interrupting their studies.
